Wild Azure Rathalos is more likely to retreat to its den when defeated with a Lagiacrus Kinship Skill.
Battle Tips[]
Azure Rathalos will prioritize Speed attacks when enraged and Technique Attacks after Soaring Inferno, and will take flight after using both.
Either one will be used upon enragement, with Soaring Flame seeing use when its HP is above 50% and Soaring Conflagration seeing use when its HP is at or below 50%.
Azure Rathalos will only use Soaring Flame and Soaring Conflagration when on the ground.
Azure Rathalos will only use Gliding Spear when airborne.
When Azure Rathalos is airborne, Venom Strike cannot be countered through Head-to-Head Battles, making it more dangerous overall. Using a Flash Bomb or flash-based moves or breaking its wings will knock it down, leaving it open to attack.
Azure Rathalos can fully restore its wings' HP upon taking flight once more, however.
Azure Rathalos will drop back to the ground after using Venom Strike.
If hit with a Power attack outside of Head-to-Head Battles, Azure Rathalos will immediately counterattack the Rider or their Monstie.
Although it is not as evasive as the standard Rathalos, Azure Rathalos can power itself up through Flame Aura and Focus Power, bolstering its damage output.
Unlike the regular Rathalos, Azure Rathalos has access to the All-Out skill, and due to wild monsters having infinite Kinship Charge, it can exploit it as it pleases; this combined with its Critical skill makes countering the monster a vital task.
Azure Rathalos is unaffected by Poison, Noxious Poison, and Deadly Poison.

Wild Azure Rathalos is immune to Poison, Noxious Poison, and Deadly Poison. Azure Rathalos as a Monstie does not possess this level of resistance, however, though it can have access to Antivenom Genes upon hatching.
Azure Rathalos was revamped into a Variant due to it being a genetic mutation as opposed to a genuine subspecies. This is reflected by the change in description.
Azure Rathalos's abilities were designed to be a mix between those of its Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2 incarnations.
